Day 14 of 40: we're over 1/4 of the way there!

Kicking the fast food habit is becoming easier and easier. I just hope its not like biting your nails or smoking or world of warcraft - and comes back harder and stronger.

Eating only at restaurants that usually ask for tips (and a tip jar at the counter only doesnt count) has made me have to figure enough time for a sit down meal, and also think about the pros and cons of it versus just making a lunch or dinner and packing it.

I've added exercise to my regimen, doing stretches and jumping jacks and the like every morning. Sure its not exactly 30 minutes on the treadmill or 45 minutes of laps at the pool, but starting next tuesday I'll be getting back into my exercise regimen.

Oop, food's ready. Time to eat!

Day 8 of 40: recovering from day 7.

After an awkward day at home, with the crummy weather and all, i finally got out of the house for some r & r.  Ariake's has some good sushi, and so far everytime I've gone, someone's had a birthday where they stand you on your chair and give you a couple of honorary cups of tea while banging on really loud chinese tet parade style drums. I wonder if that's a traditional thing.

Dinner was scrumptious, and was followed by shopping. We returned the new iPod nano, and spent most of our time in Forever 21. My sister did pick up a nice dress, and my honey picked up some clothes too. Going to Borders after yielded some calendars (Jonas, Starcraft II, Zits).

ItKs getting really late, and I'm totally exhausted. Can't even keep a straight story going.

Day 7 of 40: uh oh. Seeing results the hard way.

Hydroxycut has a funny way of working on me.  It's definitely helping me lose weight, with my change in diet by giving up fast food - which normally is a huge chunk of it on some days.  But the results aren't as drastic or fast as I'd prefer, but i guess yo-yoing with your weight isn't good either.

I keep worrying that I'm going to get sick while I'm trying to lose all this weight.  Dr. MacDonald last semester mentioned that all those chemicals in Oreos and other processed foods usually get stored in the human body's fat supply.  So, when I lose weight, I'm burning away the fat, and also re-releasing all those nasty chemicals back into my system, possibly making me ill - which I guess wouldn't motivate people to lose weight.

Not much to update except for those thoughts. I haven't written about valentine's day, but it wasn't much to talk about. We celebrated after, slept in until about 11, went to the crab stands in SF for Fisherman's Wharf, and then to Ikea for some shopping.  Like I said, not much to talk about.

Till later.

Day 6 of 40: I don't really miss it.

Well, that's not entirely true. I do miss hamburgers and fries. And Denny's pancakes/slams.

But it's not half bad, not eating out. I definitely think my wallet will thank me.

Rumor has it that you lose 15 lbs the first month you give up soda and switch to water. Maybe that'll be my next 40 days?

I should get to ordering contacts soon, I'm on my last pair. I think I'm going to try blue this time. I've tried hazel (mostly no different to people), green (everyone notices), purple (everyone stares), and now blue. I liked purple, but only because it's a color of the moment.

Currently:
Reading: Laura Fitzgerald's "One True Theory of Love," Neal Gabler's Walt Disney biography

Day 4 of 40: It's not so bad.

So starting last Friday (late for Lent, I know) I gave up fast food, thanks to the recommendation of my girlfriend/soulmate. That means no more fries unless I make them myself, and no more burgers until Easter. It hurts to hear, I know. If you listen closely you can hear all the managers screaming.

So, no more:

Starbucks
In-n-out
McDonald's
Burger King
Jack in the Box
Taco Bell

Places like Little Caesar's technically aren't fast food, but I know that's straddling a line I shouldn't even be near anyways, so it'll go on the list too. Basically eating in 3x a day, which will probably do loads for my wallet - not that I wouldn't have other things to be saving for (cue The Wedding March)

I'm back on AIM again, and trying to clean my image up - so more facial lotion and contacts, and less glasses. I misplaced then found my contacts prescription, so I'll be booking for some more boxes soon.

Physics is going well. My new years resolution of reading more is going well. Blogging at least once a week isn't, haha.

Well, time is money, and right now I need more of it. Gotta go!
